Privacy Policy
1. Who is responsible
The game is published by Fredrik Stroem, Norway ("we", "us"). We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at support@skijumpstudio.com.
2. Playing offline: data that stays on your device
The game stores your settings, personal records, replays, custom hills, campaign progress, achievements, and whether you have unlocked the full game. All of this is kept locally on your phone or tablet. It is not sent to us, and it is removed when you uninstall the game (unless your device backs it up as part of a normal device backup, which is controlled by Apple or Google under their own policies).
The game does not use your camera, microphone, location, contacts or Bluetooth, and does not send push notifications.
3. Online features: data stored on our servers
Online features are off until you tap Go online (on the Online page or under Profile › Account). Before anything goes online you choose a jumper name and nation and accept the community rules. You can go offline again at any time, and the game plays the same without online features.
3.1 Your account
When you go online the game creates a player account with Unity Authentication. No email address, phone number, password or real name is required. The account is identified by a random player ID and a short player tag that other players can use to find you.
You can choose to link the account to Sign in with Apple so it follows you to a new device or a reinstall. The game asks Apple only for a sign-in token; it does not ask for your name or email address. Unity stores the Apple account identifier that comes with that token, so the same Apple ID always opens the same player account. If you never link Apple, deleting the game loses access to the account.
3.2 What we store, and who can see it
| Data | Why | Who can see it |
|---|---|---|
| Jumper name, nation and player tag | Shown next to your scores, hills, reviews, battles, tournaments and in friends lists. Names are unique; the server keeps a record of renames to limit how often a name can change | Other players |
| Your best jump on each hill | Hill leaderboards and your player card | Other players |
| Replay of your best jump on each hill | So others can watch it from the leaderboard. Only while Share my replays is on; turning it off takes shared replays down | Other players |
| Your match ratings | Matching you with players of similar skill in battles and matches | Other players, as part of your player card |
| Battles, matches, tournaments and World Cup rooms you take part in, and your results in them | Running these competitions and their result lists | The other players in that competition; tournament results on their boards |
| Hills you share from the builder | The community hill catalog, shown with your name as the author | Other players |
| Reviews you write (stars, text, your name) | Rating community hills | Other players |
| Friends list, friend requests and blocks | The friends feature | You, and the players involved |
| Online status and your latest jump | So friends can see when you are playing. Only while Show me online is on | Your friends |
| Your coins | Keeping your coin balance when you change or reinstall a device | Only you |
| Replays you back up to the cloud | Restoring them on a new device | Only you |
| Reports (the reason, where it was seen, the reported name, the time) | Moderation: you can report another player's name, content they made or cheating | Our moderators only. The reported player is not told who reported them |
3.3 Moderation
Names and review text pass through an automatic filter on the server that rejects offensive words; names and text that are refused are not stored. Every player's name has a Report button, and you can block players from the friends list. Our moderators review reports and can remove a name that breaks the community rules; the player then has to choose another one.
3.4 Where it is stored
Online features run on Unity Gaming Services, operated by Unity Technologies (Authentication, Cloud Save, Cloud Code, Leaderboards, Friends, Remote Config and Multiplayer). Unity processes this data on our behalf under its own terms and may host it outside your country, including in the United States, under the safeguards described in Unity's privacy documentation. To operate these services Unity also receives technical information from your device, such as your IP address, device identifiers, device model and operating system version. See Unity's Game Player and App User Privacy Policy and Privacy Policy. Sign in with Apple is provided by Apple under Apple's privacy policy.
4. Purchases
The full game is a one-time purchase made through the Apple App Store or Google Play. The store handles payment; we never see your card details, billing address or payment account. The store tells the game only that the purchase was made, so it can be unlocked and restored. Apple's and Google's privacy policies apply to the transaction.
5. What we do not do
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers are collected.
- No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs. Unity's analytics and crash reporting are switched off in the game.
- We do not sell, rent or share your personal data for marketing.
- We do not build profiles of you across apps or websites.
6. Legal basis (for players in the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland)
- Performance of a contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)): storing the data in section 3.2 is necessary to provide the online features you turn on.
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): sharing your replays, showing your online status to friends and linking Sign in with Apple are optional. Turning a switch off withdraws consent, and the data it covered is taken down.
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): keeping the service fair and free of abuse, for example validating scores and hills on the server, filtering offensive names, and handling reports.
7. How long we keep it
Online data is kept for as long as your online account exists. Deleting the account (section 8) removes it. Shared replays are removed as soon as you switch sharing off. A hill you unshare is removed from the catalog. Reports you made about other players are kept after you delete your account, linked only to the deleted account's random ID, for as long as moderators need them. Local data on your device is yours to delete by uninstalling the game.
8. Deleting your account and data
In the game, open Profile › Privacy › Delete online account while connected. This removes your leaderboard jumps and shared replays, your ratings, your name and player tag, your shared hills and reviews, your battles, your friends and friend requests, your coins and cloud backup, reports about you, and then the account itself, including any Sign in with Apple link. It cannot be undone. Records, replays and hills on your device are not affected.
If you can no longer open the game, email support@skijumpstudio.com with your jumper name and player tag, and we will delete the account for you within 30 days. You can also stop the game's use of your Apple ID at any time in your iPhone's Settings under Sign in with Apple.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to receive a copy of it, to restrict or object to its processing, and to withdraw consent. Most of these you can exercise yourself in the game: change your name and nation on the Profile page, switch sharing off, or delete the account. For anything else, email us. If you believe we have not handled your data lawfully, you can complain to your local data protection authority; in Norway that is Datatilsynet.
10. Children
The game is not directed at children under 13 (or the age of digital consent where you live, up to 16). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has created an online account, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Security
All traffic between the game and the servers is encrypted. Scores, names, hills and reviews are validated on the server before they are stored, and the server only ever acts on the account that is signed in. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep the amount of data to what the features need.
12. Changes to this policy
If the game starts handling data differently we will update this page and change the effective date above. Material changes will also be announced in the game.
